Manchester United Women’s matchday revenue surges by 194%
The Manchester United Women’s team's matchday revenue shot up by 194% in 2023, the club's latest accounts revealed.
Manchester United Women’s Football Club Limited raked in £1.1 million in matchday revenue last year compared to £377,000 in 2022, according to the club’s annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2023.
Matchday revenue comprised only 16% of the women’s team's overall turnover, which was £6.9m.
Turnover rose by 37% from £5m in 2022.
“Revenue increased primarily as a result of increased matchday and commercial revenue, due to increased attendances and improved sponsorship deals,” the Red Devils said.
The club’s commercial revenue, which comprises the largest chunk of the pie, saw a 16% increase.
Unlike the men’s team, which saw a dip in broadcasting revenue, the women’s team made significant gains.
Broadcasting revenue rose from £245,000 in 2022 to £698,000 in 2023, a rise of 185%.
